Tropical cyclone slams into a French island in the Indian Ocean

Tropical cyclone Garance struck the French island of Réunion in the Indian Ocean with winds of up to 103 mph.

Following this event, Garance has become the strongest storm to hit the island since Tropical Cyclone Firinga in 1989.
